Good and delicious tasting Chinese food at affordable prices continues to be served up on a daily basis at the popular Evergreen Chinese Restaurant & Buffet at 1665 East Main Street in Kent.
Founded by Cheng Wong, who resides with his family in Kent, the family owned business features Chinese dishes from a variety of regions of China and since its opening has been popular with locals and residents throughout Northeast Ohio. Restaurant goers can order from the menu or take advantage of the buffet. In either case, they can dine in a relaxing family friendly environment that has established a loyal following.
"Our food must be delicious, the atmosphere has to be relaxing and our service must be superior," Cheng says. "It's our goal to please every customer."
Dishes served are cooked in the Hunan, Szechuan, Cantonese and Mandarin styles. Staff members are able to explain the varieties and the dishes to customers. Popular dishes on the buffet are Generals Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Volcanic Three. Crabs Legs are served on the buffet everyday for dinner and all day Sundays at no extra charge.
The name "Evergreen" was chosen for the restaurant because in Chinese that means something that is always new and fresh.
Prices are friendly too. An evening's dinner for four generally costs less than $50. Lunch for four is under $30. Children under three eat free.
Evergreen offers take-out food too. The average price for a buffet to go comes in at $4.50 and you get free soup with a pound of food.
